At CacheIO we are building Open Symmetrix. Symmetrix is this high end EMC storage that has proprietary hardware and 1TB DRAM cache and is super fast. Symmetrix is what made EMC EMC2. Bang Chang – Founder & CEO

Bang Chang has 20 years of experience in the networked storage industry. Most recently Bang was the general manager of the server & storage business unit at SeaChange International. At SeaChange, Bang worked closely with Bruce to bring the industry’s first SSD based server and caching solution to market and won the biggest cable and telco accounts. Prior to SeaChange Bang was a product line manager at EMC, responsible for next generation storage architecture and strategic acquisitions. Bang also held various engineering positions at Auspex Systems, an early leader in the NAS market, and Alphatronix, a startup in hierarchical storage management. Bang holds a MBA from Duke University , a Master in Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University, and a BSEE from the University of Science & Technology in China.
Bruce Mann – Founder and CTO

Bruce has been inventing new technologies and disrupting the market for the last forty years. Most recently Bruce was the Co-Founder and CTO at SeaChange International. At SeaChange Bruce invented the patented MediaCluster technology that dominated the video on demand, ad insertion, and broadcast play-to-air industry for more than ten years. Prior to SeaChange Bruce was a senior technologist at Digital Equipment Corp. where he developed the first networked storage, a predecessor to today’s NAS and SAN and invented local terminal network, which led to multi-billion dollar deployment of Ethernet. Bruce has filed 40 patent applications and more than 20 of which have been granted. Bruce has a BSEE from Cornell University.
